Do you have _____ song?
Maybe! While our on-air library consists of the top 1,000 songs of 1980 through 1989 (the top 1100 pop singles from each year), I am an avid collector of '80s music and can likely out-obscure you. :-) Although I like to stick to the hits, hit me up on Twitter... if I'm around & have it, chances are I will throw it in!
- EW! How can you play _____ song? It's AWFUL!
Well, yes, maybe it IS awful. I am playing a few songs I think are so bad they're funny. While you & I may find them funny (or just sad), enough people called the radio stations and bought the singles across the nation to make it one of the top 100 songs of the YEAR, not just of one week. That means an awful lot of people really, really love (or loved) that "awful" song. I think we should make them happy, too... don't you?
For far too long, radio has played only the "cool" songs. Well, sometimes we aren't "cool." Call them a guilty pleasure, call them whatever you want... but in the middle of the night, with everyone else asleep, and your headphones on... you may start singing along!
We forgive you. ;-)

I'm on a dial-up modem; can I listen?
Sure! You'll just have to get broadband. (Sorry again.) We're streaming at 96kbps, and your modem would be really stretching to even get to 53kbps (the theoretical limit of analog phone lines in the United States). Most dial-up modems can hold a 24kbps stream and nothing higher, despite some claims by others that you can listen at 32kbps. More power to ya if you can do it...
The reason we went broadband is that more than 50% of the American households are now on broadband... and, embarassingly, The United States is behind much of the world in adopting broadband connections at home. On my previous station, we had 10 broadband listeners for every dial-up listener... seriously. At 96kbps mp3PRO we are getting close to CD quality. So please consider one of the wonderful, affordable broadband options in your area: cable, DSL, or wireless. Heck, ISDN works, if it's still available where you are. There may even be broadband options coming soon from your local electric company, so research your options... you'll never regret going broadband!
